Mr. Attar is quite simply, a lifesaver. I came into Mr. Attar's care with a significantly large stone in my right kidney. It was a condition I had been diagnosed with 2 years ago and I had already had a number of treatments for it in Aberdeen (my previous home). These treatments included a PCNL and a few ureteroscopies. I also had a stent from my ureter all the way to my bladder, which was placed as a safety precaution - to try and avoid any potential blockages caused by the remaining kidney stones, in my ureter. For a few weeks before seeing Mr. Attar, i had started experiencing serious, almost crippling pain in my lower abdomen. This was a completely new symptom, but I knew it was somehow related to my condition. Upon my first consultation with Mr. Attar, he confirmed that my stent had calcified and this is what was causing my pain. This meant that it needed to be removed as soon as possible, to avoid any further complications. So the first procedure he performed on me was a ureteroscopy to remove the stent. The procedure was quite straightforward however not without risks. One of the first things I appreciated about Mr. Attar was his patience, openness and honesty about the procedure he was about to perform and any potential risks. This really put my mind at ease because not only was I fully aware of what was going to happen to me, but also because I knew my consultant was aware of and well equipped to handle anything that could possibly go wrong. The next procedure he performed on me was a PCNL which is essentially keyhole surgery to try and remove the stone from the kidney. Again, I went into surgery fully confident that I was well looked after. I had no concerns of doubts about anything and I knew exactly what was going to happen to me while I was under anaesthetic as well as what my expected recovery will be like. My mom had come in especially to look after me after the surgery. She is a nurse, however she was not allowed to be with me until after I woke up from my anaesthesia and was already in the ward. This was especially hard for her because uncertainty is probably the most frustrating of feelings, especially in this case. Mr. Attar was kind enough to sit down with her after my surgery and explain everything to her and put her mind at ease. The operation was success, the majority of the stone was cleared which is a fantastic result considering the size of stone I had. Aftercare was another area Mr. Attar excelled at. He came to see me twice a day while I was in the hospital, he would always give me a review of my results and how I was doing and explained the reasoning behind every single decision he made with regards to my treatment. Not to mention that he did so with a very positive attitude, which I believe also helped with my speedy recovery. In summary, I couldn't recommend Mr. Attar enough. Not only is he an excellent urologist but he is a kind man, who actually cares about the speedy recovery and well-being of his patients.

Without any question, Chelsea and Westminster hospital saved my life. Two or three years ago I was being admitted to hospital several times for a bladder infections, sometimes for up to nine days. As is the daily routine of the hospital, several teams of doctors and consultants visited me twice daily and nobody could get to the bottom of why this infection was so serious and kept returning. Two years ago, when I met my new consultant Dr. Hama Attar at the hospital for the first time, I explained the problem to him and he immediately came up with a diagnosis and gave me some advice to follow, which no one had mentioned before. Really, deep down in my heart, I cannot thank this young consultant and his team enough. I have followed his advice over the past two years and the infection has not returned, I am healthier and have not had to return to the hospital for any bladder infections since. Deep down from my heart, I would like to thank this particularly clever doctor and I am happy to speak with anyone else who has problems in this regard. My telephone number is 07944203355 Kamran Attaei

I underwent a surgical procedure performed by Mr Hama Attar and can thoroughly recommend this Doctor in every way. Both my pre and post operative consultations were clear and concise leaving me feeling completely confident and well informed. On the day of the surgery I felt very much looked after and the procedure was performed with very little discomfort and I felt completely comforted throughout. A truly competent surgeon and an asset to his profession.

I was operated on (Kidney Stent Change and Removal of Kidney Stones) by Mr Hama Attar at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital on 27th February 2017. Mr Attar was on time for my procedure. He communicated with emotional intelligence and reassured me that my operation will be successful. Mr Attar, kept his promise at every point during my recovery propose at the hospital (every time he promised to see me at my bedside after the operation he was always on time for the appointment). Mr Attar, known what to do when i had post - operation pain. I was under lots of pain on 28th and 29th February 2017. The doctors on call during the weekend tried but did not discover what was causing the pain. However, on Monday, 30th February 2017 at about 08:15 Hours, Mr Attar came to my bedside and immediately known what was causing my pains. He provided emergency care and when the pain subsided he recommended CT Scan. The result showed i had some Kidney Stones and he immediately secured an operating room to remove the kidney stones. Mr Attar gave personal attention and professional care. He ensure i had full "MOT" before discharging me from hospital. I will not hesitate to recommend Mr Attar to my families and friends if they end professional Urology specialty (doctor). THANK YOU! THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!!! I remain sincerely yours. I had a bad kidney stone episode and Mr Attar handled the matter extremely well. Very professional, efficient, and with fantastic speed of response, as well as diligent ongoing contact between treatments. He also showed great empathy with my condition and genuinely tried to do his best. And he did. Great experience and I wish more professionals reached the quality standards of Mr Attar when doing their job.
